We could do it real big, bigger than you ever done it | Best I Ever Had A great job advertising should have the same effect as a great movie trailer â€" it should make you want to jump out of your seat and go for it. In HR, the motto is simple: Create job advertisements that make your potential new employee feel excited and motivated by the opportunity to work in your company. 2. The good ones go if you wait too long. So, you should go, before you stay too long | Good Ones Go Timing plays a huge role in recruiting, so, try not to leave the candidates just hanging around waiting for your answer. Give realistic deadlines and be available all throughout the process. In Confucius’ words “Dont do unto others what you dont want done unto you.” 3. I’m more than just a number, I doubt you’ll find another | Find Your Love We are all special (just ask your moms!). Nevertheless, during the recruiting process candidates tend to feel like they’re just another number and a bit lost in the sauce. Customize your communication, as this creates a bond between the company and each individual candidate. 4. I need someone thatll help me think of someone besides myself |Girls Love Beyonce Recruit talent, not staff! Nowadays HR people love to talk about big data and assess everything. In the words of Peter Drucker “You cannot manage what you do not measure”. Even though it’s amazing to have a lot of information on candidates, great recruiting isn’t just about the numbers. 5. I learned a lesson from it though, you never see it coming you just get to see it go | Fireworks Yikes! It really hurts when you have recruited someone and after a couple of months, they leave without any warning. A big turnover rate is an HR nightmare; therefore, great recruitment can be useless if you don’t have a proper onboarding process in place for the new employees. 6. You know life is what we make it, and a chance is like a picture, it’d be nice if you just take it | Unthinkable Be creative all throughout the process! Old recruiting techniques can seem a little boring and outdated. If you want to attract the best and the brightest candidates to your company, you’ll need to put in some effort and think outside the box. Take a risk and break the status quo, predictability can be a good thing up to a certain point, but eventually, it becomes restrictive. Resume Writing Strategies: Using Multiple Objectives and SummariesIn this article, I'll discuss a common resume format - the one that lets you utilize the objective and create an opening statement, and that you'll use to make your goal statements. It's easier than you think to use these two kinds of format in your resume.A resume is often divided into two sections: an objective and a summary. You should always include the objective at the top of the page. A summary should be near the bottom. Although they both have their purpose, they do not belong together.You can use the objective as a hook to make your opening statement. The summary just provides additional information to justify why you've listed them together. The objective is only used to list your achievements and to briefly summarize your qualifications.The summary has the right-hand column as its content. It doesn't change, but it provides detailed information that you need to convince the reader of the worth of your qualifi cations. A good summary of your qualifications will be creative and stand out from the rest of your resume.Your resume may include more than one objective and summary. To keep things organized, it's best to use one objective and one summary per section.To make sure you have enough space for the objective, write on one side of the page. On the other side, write a condensed version of the most important information about your career goals. Also include your previous work experience. If you want to emphasize your work experience, include it in the summary section.Use an outline to make your opening statement. When you use an outline, you'll be able to write on the right side of the page. If you're using two or more objectives, divide them into parts. This makes it easier to connect the paragraphs.Use a way to divide your text into paragraphs to help keep your resume neat and concise. It's best to use a white space of at least half a line between paragraphs, to make sure the reader can easily read the information they need.

This Simple Benefit Could Help You Recruit Top Talent Seventy-eight percent of professionals have experienced feelings of burnout at some point in their careers, according to new research. The OnePoll study delved into the shifting workplace needs and health concerns of 1,000 employed professionals between the ages of 24 and 40 and found that increasing workloads, an endless barrage of slacks and emails, and end-of-year deadlines are all contributing to professionals feeling exhausted. The study also took a look at the benefits that are actually helping professionals to thrive and tackle burnout, and those benefits that could make a large impact on recruiting and retention efforts. There was one clear winner. More than half of professionals surveyed (58%) revealed that they would be more likely to accept a job that offered a fitness and wellness package, and the same number would be more likely to stay in their current role if these benefits were offered. One in three professionals who had previously participated in an employer-sponsored wellness or wellbeing program reported lower levels of stress and improved morale. The results of this study show that wellness benefits will be a necessity for attracting and retaining top talent in 2020. Top companies that compete for superb candidates need to offer benefit packages that illustrate their commitment to the health of their teams. In fact, 88 percent of professionals say they would be more likely to recommend a company as a good place to work if the company supports their well-being efforts. That makes wellness benefits a necessary tool for recruitment, retention, and referrals. As Head of Corporate Programs at ClassPass, I have spent the past two years working directly with companies of all sizes to implement meaningful benefits that will help employees to improve and manage their stress. Adobe, Facebook, Mitsubishi, Airbnb, and Glossier are just a few of the employers who are already seeing a positive impact from making ClassPass available to their teams. We have also seen companies organize department-wide competitions, such as tracking which team racks up the highest number of hours of usage and doing a healthy lunch for the winners. Regardless of which benefits you offer, be vocal about their existence. With 75% of professionals surveyed responding that it’s their employer’s responsibility to contribute to their health and well-being, make sure you communicate that you are a company that prioritizes programs that tackle burnout and improve employee well-being. Boston College Students Get a Lesson in Personal Branding - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career I feel that personal branding should be the heartbeat of higher education. The logic here is that the sooner you discover your personal brand, the more risks you can take, as well as the easier it is to carve our your career path. Today I spoke at Boston College to some freshman and seniors who are trying to understand what it takes to start a business, as well as incorporate personal branding in their lives. The presentation was almost an hour in length and I went over various topics, such as the current dilemma (economic recession), a brief history of personal branding and how self-impression needs to equal perception. As an exercise, two students volunteered to write down three attributes about themselves and about each other, with the sole object of matching perception with self-impression. That is how you know if you are branding yourself correctly. Next, I went through my personal branding story and provided insights and learnings at each step. Also, I touched on Google searchability, the definition and elements of personal branding, the Octopus Model of Relevancy, key terms, the 4-step process, tangible and intangible aspects, and benefits. The main idea was that personal branding is the small piece of an iceberg that people notice, and that networking is the large piece that few people recognize because its below the ocean. By developing an eBrand, you are in fact drawing people to your brand, in what I call a pull strategy. You just might get ahead of them.The enemy creates havoc in the workplace as they try to advance their own personal agenda at the expense of their colleagues.I have survived many enemies in my career; it is critical to know how to spot them to so you can take evasive action and avoid being one of their victims.evalThis is what the enemy looks like.1. They are the consummate grinnerThey grin you constantly.You know, the phoney false smile pasted on their face when they want you to believe they agree with what you are saying or a position you are taking.In reality their grin means exactly the opposite of support; they really don’t believe a word you are saying and will admonish you whenever they get the chanc e.Whenever you see the grin, be prepared for betrayal.My enemy #1 actually came across to others as someone who was my friend; the perception was that we were close ally’s. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. I knew he was disingenuous and didn’t trust him one bit.2. They spread fake news about youThey know who your real supporters are and will lie through their teeth about you to them. And they are smooth when they do it; experts in the innuendo and careful to be not too blatant.evalThey use the “grin fodder” you have provided as the fuel for their stories.My enemy #1 was quite proficient in communicating to one and all that I didn’t support certain programs that were approved by the executive team. He was like an insidious disease trying to infect my colleagues to believe I was not a team player. Absolute rubbish of course but it showed the extent to which this person would go to discredit me.3. They treat themselves as number 1 â€" ALWAYSNever forget it. It might seem that they actually care about you and your circumstances but they don’t. “After me you come first” is their mantra. They want you to let them in so you are vulnerable to a move they eventually make against you.My enemy #1 was the epitome of narcissism. He gave the impression to the unsuspecting that he was supportive of his colleagues but would turn on a dime to solidify his personal position at the expense of someone else.eval4. They do not hesitate throwing you under the bus Never expect they will take accountabilities their actions. Whenever things go awry the enemy will always try and blame someone else for the screwup. They constantly want to be perceived as lily white to those in the organization who they believe matter and will sacrifice anyone around to enhance their position.My enemy #1 played to the CEO incessantly and would always try to disadvantage me in front of him by criticizing the tactics my marketing organization were employing to win customers ba ck from our competition. And he made it sound so condescending.Of course defending against this type of attack on my part required cold blooded arguments devoid of any emotion that could give my “friend’s” claims credibility.5. They actually believe they are righteousAnd this is the real scary thing about them. If you call them on any one of the aforementioned four issues they respond with shock and disbelief and will vehemently deny any culpability. They are pathological liars who are constantly in denial; that’s what makes them so dangerous.I once confronted my enemy #1 about who he really was; I believe he was genuinely shocked that he was perceived that way. As I explained my conclusion with examples of his behaviour, he rejected each one with what he believed to be a convincing argument to prove I had misjudged him. And my calling him out did nothing to change him because he didn’t believe he was that person.An enemy can cause irrevocable harm to others if they are al lowed to do their thing.And never play their game. It turns out that the enemy eventually gets discovered and is punished for their sins.My enemy #1 eventually was discovered by the CEO as that person and was fired. But he quickly moved on to another opportunity where his methods were not known and where he could continue his ways.evalWatch for the enemy; don’t play into their hands. And don’t be part of the carnage they leave behind.

Choosing A Career With Family In Mind There are many things to consider when deciding what career path to take and one of the most important is your family. Whether you have a family or are planning to start one in the future, it is important to consider when choosing a career. Here are some questions that you should ask   yourself to help you decide what path to take. How big do I want my family to be? Depending on how big you want your family to be will help decide where you want to work. You will need a salary that will be able to support your family. What kind of lifestyle do you and your family want to live? Whether you want to live simply or decadently is another factor to consider. If you want to live in luxury, then you need to find a career that has an appropriate salary and even the option for career and salary advancement. How much time do you want to spend with your family? Your work will take some time away from your family. You need to decide how much time away you want. If you want to spend a lot of time with your family, then you need to choose a career and a company that will allow you to spend as much time with your family as possible. Full time, part time? Perks?   You may be able to negotiate your benefits or perks, i.e. having a bigger vacation package and little to no health insurance. If you dont need to carry insurance, you may be able to negotiate more vacation days or even flex time with the amount of money you will be saving the company on health insurance. Considering all these questions will help you make the best decision on what career path to take. While these questions can help you, you should not make this decision on your own. Talk to your family and get their input. They can be your most valuable resource in making this decision.
